Hi There!

I’m Marjorie Politi, the face behind Marjorie’s Letters. I’m a Hudson Valley based calligrapher, designer and illustrator residing in Newburgh, New York. In 2017, having worked as an art director, creating campaigns and branding for fortune 500 companies, I found myself wanting to step away from the computer and create things by hand. I’ve always swooned over all types of typography, especially calligraphy. With my 2 sons grown, and with freed up time from soccer sidelines and scout events, I was finally able to dedicate time to learning and practicing calligraphy. Marjorie’s Letters was born from the desire to learn, practice and explore creatively and has since evolved into a love of hand lettering.

As a graduate of Art Center College of Design, in Pasadena, California, studying Advertising Design, my education gave me the tools to conceptualize, implement and execute ideas whether it be for a corporation, a small boutique, or a single event. I understand the importance of working and collaborating with a team and vendors to execute and create your “big idea.”

I create custom wedding invitations, with all the trimmings; envelope addressing, seating charts, menu design, place cards, table numbers and chalkboard art. From custom art work to on-site personalization, I get so much joy working with clients big and small, bringing their ideas to life.

I also share my love of lettering and teach beginner-level brush calligraphy workshops in New York and New Jersey, Pennsylvania and am willing to travel anywhere!

I’d love to connect and create for you!
